The Pirates of Penzance

  • Pirates of Penzance, 2006

Music by Arthur Sullivan
Libretto by W.S. Gilbert

Gilbert and Sullivan’s beloved comic operetta tells of the coming of age of Frederic, indentured to pirates as a boy, and his desire to leave the buccaneer’s life and marry beautiful Mabel. But first, he must find a way to defeat the swashbucklers he’s known and loved all his life. In keeping with the play’s long tradition, the performances will be spiced up with wry contemporary political references.
